Elvedee End of Residency Exhibition Opening Night

June 16, 2018 @ 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Santa Carla
3 Sparta Place

This exhibition opening marks the culmination of three months work by Santa Carla’s first artist in residence Elvedee aka Veronica Dixon.

During this incredibly productive time Veronica has completed two projects, artwork for the children’s book Ben Nana written by Michael Irving and a new greeting card range titled ‘Amusing Musings’.

The result is an exhibition that takes us on a sublime journey into a vibrant watercoloured world celebrating the extraordinary of our every day lives.

With a background in psychology and a love of all things adorable Veronica is naturally drawn to the weird and wonderful parts of life. Over the years Veronica has created an impressive collection of work, using different mediums and formats using her talent for seeing the cute in the unusual along with her gift for capturing feelings in moments.

Inspired by Veronica’s obsession of bananas Ben Nana is an endearing tale of following your dreams to fruition. Veronica’s delightfully quirky and engaging illustrations are a perfect fit for this heartwarming story.

A card range with an extra something, Amusing Musings not only lets the recipient know you are thinking of them, but also enriches their life with a fun and educational fact. Beautiful to look at, interesting to read, these cards are a gift unto themselves.

A selection of prints and a full range cards will be available from opening night.

The exhibition will run until Saturday 14 July.
